Additional needs

1:1 support & who our camps are for

We’re a mainstream holiday camp, not a specialist SEN setting. To take part, children need to be toilet trained and verbal.

How to ask about 1:1 support

Some children with additional needs can attend with 1:1 support. If you think your child may need this, here’s how it works:

  1. Get in touch — email info@u-kids.co.uk or call 0333 772 9574.
  2. We arrange a short suitability screening call.
  3. This is your chance to tell us about your child’s needs.
  4. We confirm whether camp is a suitable fit.
  5. If it is, we confirm availability for 1:1 support. This is an additional £91 per day on top of the standard daily rate, covering a dedicated 1:1 support member of staff for that day.

Arranging your own support worker

For more specialist needs (for example, hearing impairment), some families prefer to arrange their own 1:1 support worker. If that’s of interest, please get in touch to discuss. This is subject to our usual checks, plus an additional adult suitability check for the support worker.

Booking & payment

How do I book?
Use the camp links above, or browse everything on our platform enrolmy.com/ukids and select “See Activities”.
How and when do I pay?
Pay by Tax-Free Childcare, childcare vouchers, upfront card or instalments through the booking platform. All payments must be completed before the first day.
Can I use childcare vouchers?
Yes. At checkout you’ll find the relevant codes and references for Tax-Free Childcare and childcare vouchers.

Changes & cancellations

Can I change or cancel my booking?
Free changes with more than 7 days’ notice. Cancel within that window and we refund the cost minus 30% per day. For shorter notice, add uCover. All changes go through the office.
What if my child is off sick?
With uCover you can move the day or request a refund. Without it, we’re unable to refund or move a booking for sickness.

On the day

What should my child bring?
A packed lunch, snacks and plenty of water. All camps are nut-free, with water refill stations on site.
What about bad weather?
We make the most of breaks in the weather for outdoor activities, with indoor space and wet-weather activities ready when needed.

Ages, health & inclusion

Are camps Ofsted registered?
Yes. Our camps are Ofsted registered and meet all requirements of that registration.
Do you support children with SEND?
We’re a mainstream holiday camp, not a specialist SEN setting. Some children with additional needs can attend with 1:1 support — see the 1:1 support section above for the process, baseline expectations and costs.
