The Cheam camp timetable

Exactly what we’ve got planned, week by week. Activities are grouped by age band and may swap around on the day.

Swimming is coming to these timetables: swimming was a late addition to our Cheam camp, so we are in the process of updating the timetables below to show it. We aim to run a swimming session every morning for ages 5 to 13, in line with pool safety requirements and staffing availability.

Timetable coming soon

Our October camp timetable is being finalised and will be published here shortly. In the meantime, the daily routine below shows how a typical camp day runs.

Ofsted

Inspected and trusted

This is one of our newer venues and has not yet had its own Ofsted inspection. Our most recent holiday-camp inspection — at Holme Grange School in Wokingham — was rated Strong standard by Ofsted, with all safeguarding standards met. It reflects the same care, team and standards we bring to every site.

Things to look out for

A few highlights that make our Cheam camp a little bit special.

A child swimming with a kickboard during a uKids session

Swimming

Swimming is now part of our Cheam camp, using the pool on site at Cheam School. We aim to run a session every morning, so your child gets time in the water before the rest of the day gets going.

Every morningNot in winter

Ages 5–13 · swimming is not available to our 3 and 4 year olds at the moment

What to bring: swimwear and a towel. As swimming is in the morning, your child may find it easiest to wear their swimwear under their clothes. Towels and wet kit will need to go home each day.

Time of year: the pool at Cheam is outdoors, so swimming is not available at our winter camps. It runs at our warmer-weather camps only.

Our timetables are being updated to show swimming. We aim to swim every day, though sessions run in line with pool safety requirements and staffing availability, and we reserve the right not to run a session.

Additional needs

1:1 support & who our camps are for

We’re a mainstream holiday camp, not a specialist SEN setting. To take part, children need to be toilet trained and verbal.

How to ask about 1:1 support

Some children with additional needs can attend with 1:1 support. If you think your child may need this, here’s how it works:

  1. Get in touch — email info@u-kids.co.uk or call 0333 772 9574.
  2. We arrange a short suitability screening call.
  3. This is your chance to tell us about your child’s needs.
  4. We confirm whether camp is a suitable fit.
  5. If it is, we confirm availability for 1:1 support. This is an additional £91 per day on top of the standard daily rate, covering a dedicated 1:1 support member of staff for that day.

Arranging your own support worker

For more specialist needs (for example, hearing impairment), some families prefer to arrange their own 1:1 support worker. If that’s of interest, please get in touch to discuss. This is subject to our usual checks, plus an additional adult suitability check for the support worker.
